Porous molybdenum carbide nano-octahedrons synthesized via confined carburization in metal-organic frameworks for efficient hydrogen production
Electrochemical water splitting has been considered as a promising approach to produce clean and sustainable hydrogen fuel. However, the lack of high-performance and low-cost electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction hinders the large-scale application. As a new class of porous materials with tunable structure and composition, metal-organic frameworks have been considered as promising ca...
متن کاملA Flexible Platform Containing Graphene Mesoporous Structure and Carbon Nanotube for Hydrogen Evolution
It is of great significance to design a platform with large surface area and high electrical conductivity for poorly conductive catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), such as molybdenum sulfide (MoS x ), a promising and cost-effective nonprecious material. Here, the design and preparation of a free-standing and tunable graphene mesoporous structure/single-walled carbon nanotube (GMS/SW...
متن کاملNanostructured SnS-N-doped graphene as an advanced electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction.
The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) via water splitting requires the development of advanced and inexpensive electrocatalysts to replace expensive platinum (Pt)-based catalysts. The scalable hydrothermal synthesis of SnS on N-reduced graphene (N-rGr) sheets is presented for the first time, which is used as a highly-active electrocatalyst with long-term stability in acidic, neutral, and alkali...
متن کاملCoupled molybdenum carbide and reduced graphene oxide electrocatalysts for efficient hydrogen evolution
Electrochemical water splitting is one of the most economical and sustainable methods for large-scale hydrogen production. However, the development of low-cost and earth-abundant non-noble-metal catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction remains a challenge. Here we report a two-dimensional coupled hybrid of molybdenum carbide and reduced graphene oxide with a ternary polyoxometalate-polypyr...
متن کاملMetal Carbides for Biomass Valorization
Transition metal carbides have been utilized as an alternative catalyst to expensive noble metals for the conversion of biomass. Tungsten and molybdenum carbides have been shown to be effective catalysts for hydrogenation, hydrodeoxygenation and isomerization reactions. The satisfactory activities of these metal carbides and their low costs, compared with noble metals, make them appealing alter...
